Block and Report Features
Take control of your experience with Chatvdvoyom's built-in safety tools.
Your Safety Is Your Choice
Every user deserves control over who they interact with and how. Chatvdvoyom provides multiple safety features that put you in control of your experience. Understanding and using these features ensures that you can enjoy meaningful connections while maintaining appropriate boundaries and safety.
Our platform is designed for genuine connection, but we recognize that not every interaction will be positive. Some individuals on any platform may engage in inappropriate behavior, and having effective tools to address this is essential. The block and report features exist specifically to handle these situations.
You should never feel obligated to tolerate inappropriate behavior, continue unwanted conversations, or subject yourself to harassment. These tools exist so that you can quickly and effectively address problems and return to having the positive experiences our platform is designed to provide.
Using these features not only protects you but also helps protect other community members. Reports help our moderation team identify bad actors and take appropriate action. When you report problematic behavior, you're contributing to a safer community for everyone.
Take Control
Learn how to use these essential safety features to protect yourself.
Blocking Features
Blocking provides immediate control over who can interact with you on the platform. When you block someone, they cannot connect with you through video chat, and any attempt to do so will be prevented.
How to Block: During active video chats, look for the block option in the interface controls. On desktop, this is typically accessible through menu options or a dedicated button. On mobile, look for similar controls during video calls. You can usually also block users after conversations through your account settings.
What Blocking Does: When you block someone, they are immediately prevented from connecting with you. They will not be notified that they've been blocked, but any attempts to connect will fail silently on their end. Blocking is immediate and permanent unless you choose to reverse it.
Why Block: Block people who make you uncomfortable regardless of whether they've technically violated guidelines. You don't need a reason to block someone. If a conversation makes you uncomfortable for any reason, blocking is appropriate. Trust your instincts.
Managing Blocked Users: Your blocked users list is accessible through your account settings. You can review who you've blocked and unblock people if circumstances change. However, remember that unblocking someone allows them to connect with you again.
When to Block
Consider blocking in these situations:
Block immediately if someone behaves inappropriately, makes you uncomfortable, or engages in behavior that violates our community guidelines. Don't feel obligated to continue conversations that are making you uncomfortable. Block early rather than waiting until behavior escalates.
No Explanations Required: You never need to explain why you're blocking someone. Your comfort and safety take priority over any stranger's desire to continue a conversation with you.
Reporting Features
Reporting allows you to alert our moderation team to problematic behavior so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Reports make a difference in keeping our community safe.
How to Report: During video chats, use the report button to flag inappropriate behavior. This button is typically prominently visible during calls. After ending conversations, you can also submit reports through our support center with details about what occurred.
What to Report: Report behavior that violates our community guidelines, including harassment, explicit content, hate speech, threats, and scams. When reporting, provide as much detail as possible about what happened, including usernames, specific behaviors observed, and any other relevant context.
Report Response Process: Our moderation team reviews all reports. Depending on severity and evidence, actions may include warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent termination of reported accounts. We take reports seriously and respond appropriately.
After Reporting: You won't typically receive detailed updates about actions taken against reported accounts due to confidentiality considerations. However, know that your report contributes to keeping our community safer and that our team reviews all submissions.
Evidence Preservation
If you plan to report someone, evidence preservation increases the likelihood of successful enforcement.
Mental notes about specific statements and behaviors help in reporting. While you typically cannot record video chats, documenting what happened immediately after the conversation ensures details remain fresh. Include exact quotes where possible and specific behaviors observed.
Report Problematic Behavior
Your reports help keep our community safe. Take a moment to report when you encounter issues.
Understanding Moderation Actions
When reports result in moderation actions, understanding what those actions mean helps you trust the process and know what to expect.
Warnings: For minor first-time violations, users may receive formal warnings explaining why their behavior was problematic. Warnings educate users about community standards and establish that future violations will result in escalating consequences.
Temporary Suspension: More serious violations or repeated minor violations may result in temporary account suspension. During suspension, the user cannot access the platform. Suspensions typically range from days to weeks depending on violation severity.
Permanent Termination: Severe violations, patterns of repeated problematic behavior, or illegal activity result in permanent account termination. Terminated accounts cannot be reactivated, and the individual is banned from using our platform.
What We Cannot Do: Due to privacy considerations and technical limitations, we cannot share specific details about actions taken against other users. We also cannot reverse enforcement actions based on disagreements about whether violations occurred.
False Reports
We take false reporting seriously because it wastes resources and can unfairly harm users.
Submitting false reports about users who haven't violated guidelines may result in action against the reporter's account. If you genuinely observed problematic behavior, report it. If you're unsure whether behavior warrants reporting, describe what you observed without exaggeration.
Report Honestly: Only report genuinely problematic behavior. False reports undermine the safety systems that protect our community.
Getting Support When Needed
Beyond block and report features, our support team is available to help with situations that require personalized assistance.
Contacting Support: If you encounter situations that block and report features don't adequately address, contact our support team directly. Provide details about what happened, when it occurred, and any evidence you have. Our team can take additional actions that automated features cannot.
Urgent Situations: If you experience threats, stalking, or situations involving immediate physical danger, contact local emergency services first. Our platform cannot provide emergency response. After ensuring your safety, notify our support team so we can take platform action.
After Serious Incidents: If you've experienced harassment or other serious incidents, consider reaching out to support organizations outside our platform. The emotional impact of such experiences sometimes requires professional support beyond what we can provide.
Building a Safer Community
Safety features work best when the entire community participates in maintaining safety standards.
Report problematic behavior when you encounter it. Don't assume someone else has reported or that the behavior will be addressed without your input. Each report contributes to our understanding of patterns and helps us protect other users who might encounter the same bad actors.
Model positive behavior in your own interactions. Treat others with respect, respect boundaries, and contribute to an atmosphere where genuine connection can flourish. The best way to prevent bad experiences is for all community members to uphold community standards.
